22/12/24 – A Quick Holiday Update

Apologies for the Silence: Exciting Times Ahead!

Hi everyone, a quick update from Simon.

I hope this post finds you all well. Firstly, I must apologise for my recent radio silence. Life has been quite the whirlwind lately, and I’ve been caught up juggling my work commitments along with some very exciting personal developments.

As some of you may know, my partner and I are eagerly preparing for the arrival of our baby girl! This new chapter is both thrilling and demanding, requiring a substantial amount of time and energy as we get everything ready for her. The anticipation is building, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her into our lives.

On the professional front, things have also been bustling. The holiday season is upon us, and with it, I’ve been busy gearing up for some thrilling projects. I’m diving headfirst into a series of network security upgrades, which are set to enhance the overall safety and reliability of our systems. Alongside this, I’m planning on posting about a Dualsense controller mod to upgrade to hall effect joysticks.

Additionally, I’ll be documenting my homelab upgrades, which will heighten our capabilities and provide a robust framework for future expansions. These projects have been on my radar for a while now, and I’m thrilled to finally get the ball rolling.

Holiday Plans in Adelaide

As the year winds down, I’ve been looking forward to spending the Christmas holidays in beautiful Adelaide. It’s one of my favourite times of the year, filled with warmth, family, and festive cheer. We plan to stroll through the enchanting Adelaide Central Market, picking up some local delicacies and perhaps indulging in a few festive treats.

A visit to the Botanic Garden is a must, especially with the summer blooms in full swing. We also hope to enjoy a picnic at Glenelg Beach, soaking up the sun and the joyful atmosphere of the festive season. It’s such a perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with loved ones before the arrival of our little one.

I’m really looking forward to sharing more updates and insights with you all as these projects progress. Expect a flurry of posts and some behind-the-scenes looks at the exciting transformations taking place. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this busy time.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season filled with joy and new beginnings. In the meantime, enjoy a few photos from our drive to Adelaide today.

Stay tuned and see you soon!

Best,

Simon.
